The Tamur offers a unique six days of white water fatten at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for Kakayaers to play boat and explore side valley local village, culture and pure nature. There huge range of biodiversity formed abundant flora and fauna, clean beaches for camping along the rafting.

Accessibility, Transportation, Timetable & location

By bus 16-18 hr journey first transfer to Basantapur from Kathmandu and combine 3 day trekking to put in point Dovan, start 131km river rafting action, which takes 6 -7 day and end the trip at Chatara. The return journey from the take-out point takes appr. 14-16 hr long drives by bus to Kathmandu. For alternate way it is also possible to arrange flight from Biratnagar about 1:30 hr Chatara to airport and 40 minute STOL flight in extra cost.

Trip Preparation and pre-departure meeting
Please note there will be a per-departure meeting at 6pm at our kathmnadu office the day before the expedition. This is a change to get the group together and discuss the River journey. At the meeting you have a change to met your guides and we can answer any last minute queries, give out personal gear bag and collect money for beer kitty,. This is also the time to coordinate the logistics of luggage and valuable storages or transfer if you are not retuning to Kathmandu after the trip.

What to bring with you

Please bring with you shorts and a T-shirt or swimwear for on the river, suitable footwear for wearing in the raft, warm clothing for the evenings, a towel, sun block and your camera. A flashlight is also useful.

What you need to tell us

Please tell us if you are a non-swimmer, or not very confident in the water. Also it is essential that you inform us of any medical conditions that may affect your well being on the trip.
Don’t forget to request vegetarian meals if required.
